CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
I build “we” safety cultures that operations, trades, and the C-suite can put into practice.
At Ford’s $5.6 billion BlueOval City project, I managed a $5.5 million safety budget on a site with more than 3,500 people. Monthly incidents dropped from 42 to 5, with a total recordable incident rate (TRIR) of 0.58 and zero citations.
When the Project Director was off-site, I led the morning kickoff with supervising trades and Ford managers. I worked with the Energy Marshal team and participated in daily meetings with electricians, electrical engineers, and commissioning personnel. Safety was built into the work from the start.
E&L brought me back as Vice President of Environmental, Health, and Safety to turn around declining safety performance across more than 40 sites in Michigan, Indiana, Tennessee, and Florida. Results included a TRIR of 0.0, an experience modification rate (EMR) of 0.66, and successful defenses in nine of ten OSHA matters, along with work involving MIOSHA’s Consultation Education and Training (CET) program.
The approach was consistent: measurable results, reliable systems, and a culture where everyone takes responsibility for safety.
My experience includes contractor prequalification through ISNetworld, Avetta, and Vero; field safety management with HammerTech; owner- and contractor-controlled insurance programs (OCIP/CCIP); NFPA 70E electrical safety; lockout/tagout (LOTO); and serious injury and fatality (SIF) investigations.
Apex Forge EHS Consulting brings that same approach to owners and project teams working on electric vehicle battery facilities, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and AI data centers—where a 42-incident month is a risk they cannot afford.
If your priorities are EMR, TRIR, or readiness for an OSHA visit, let’s talk.
